Fourth
generation firefighter Bill Davis with a prior background
working with Nordstrom's shoe department introduced this boot
to his department in 1997. Bill Davis states that this station
boot exceeds NFPA standards for a station boot. Also Bill
states that the great thing is not having to unzip the boots
7 to 8 times a day and they weigh half of the former boots.
And opposed to the vibram soles, the Redback polyurethane
sole has greater shock absorbance and better nonslip qualities
in oil and acid. These boots are ANSI tested and approved
and are also worn by the Queensland Ambulance service in New
South Wales.
